Cisalpine GaulJulius Caesar used Gallia Cisalpina for the 'good guys' in Gaul (Gallia) on this side of the Alps from Caesar's point of view (Rome) - and Gallia Transalpina for Gallia on the other side of the Alps.
"Gallican" was used for both areas of course.
